5 Lord of the Sky, Lord of the Earth,
6 Lord of the House-of-God in Akhet-Aten.
7 Adoration of the King of Upper and Lower Egypt,
8 who lives by the Righteous Law of the Lord of the Two Lands,
9 Nefer-kheperu-Re, only Son of God,
10 the Son of the Holy Spirit who lives by the Righteous Law, Lord of Crowns,
11 The servant of God (Akhenaten), great in his lifetime
12 and of the beloved great Queen,
13 Lady of the Two Lands : Nefer-nefru-Aten Nefertiti,
14 who lives in health and youth forever !
15 The Savour, the messenger who is on the right side of the King
16 he says : The Hymn :

Chapter – 2
1 (morning beauty)
2 Splendid You rise in the lightland of the sky,
3 O living God, creator of life !
4 You have dawned in the eastern heavens.
5 You fill every land with your beauty.
6 (noon dominion)
7 You are beauteous, mighty & radiant.
8 Risen high over every land,
9 your rays embrace the lands,
10 to the limit of all that You made.
11 Being Divine Light (Holy Spirit), You reach their end.
12 You bend them for your beloved son.
13 Though You are far, your rays are on Earth.
14 Though seen by them, your course is unknown.
15 (night chaos)
16 When You set in the western lightland,
17 Earth is in darkness, as if death.
18 The sleepers are in their chambers, heads covered,
19 no eye seeing the other.
20 One could steal their goods from under their heads, they would not notice it.
21 Every lion comes from its den.
22 The serpents bite.
23 Darkness hovers, Earth is silent.
24 For its creator rests in heaven.
25 (dawn rebirth)
26 At dawn You have risen in the heavens.
27 To shine as the God of daytime !
28 You dispel the dark and cast your rays.
29 The Two Lands celebrate daily.
30 Awake they stand on their feet.
31 You have made them get up.
32 They wash and dress, their arms raised in adoration to your appearance.
33 The entire land sets out to work.
34 All cattle are satisfied with their fodder.
35 The trees and the grass become green.
36 Birds fly from their nests, their wings praising your soul.
37 All game animals frisk on their hooves, all that fly and flutter, live when You dawn for them.
38 Ships fare downstream and back upstream, roads lie open when You rise.
39 Your rays penetrate the Great Green deep.

Chapter – 3
1 (the child)
2 O You, who make semen grow in women,
3 who creates people from sperm,
4 who feeds the son in his mother’s womb,
5 who soothes him to still his tears.
6 You nurse in the womb !
7 Giver of breath to nourish all creatures.
8 When the child emerges from the womb to breathe on the day of his birth,
9 You open wide his mouth to supply his needs.
10 (the chicken)
11 The chick in the egg, chirping in the shell,
12 You give it breath within to sustain its life.
13 When it is complete, it breaks out from the egg.
14 It emerges from the egg, to say it is complete.
15 Walking on its legs when emerging.
16 God as doer : un-saying, solitary, omnipotent
17 How many are your deeds, though hidden from sight.
18 O sole God without equal !
19 You made the Earth as You desired, You alone.
20 With people, cattle, and all creatures.
21 With everything upon Earth that walks on legs,
22 and all that is on high and flies with its wings.
23 the Two Niles : God as national, international and transnational governor
24 The foreign lands of Syria and Nubia, and the land of Egypt,
25 You set everybody in his place and supply their needs.
26 They all have their food and their lifetimes are counted.
27 Tongues differ in speech, their characters as well.
28 Their skins are distinct, for You distinguished the peoples.
29 You made the Nile in the Netherworld.
30 You bring it up when You will, to keep those of Egypt alive,
31 for You have created them for yourself.
32 Lord of ALL who toils for them.
33 Lord of ALL Lands who shines for them.
34 O God of daytime, great in glory !
35 All distant lands, You make them live.
36 You made a heavenly Nile descend for them.
37 With waves beating on the mountains like the sea,
38 to drench their fields and their towns.
39 How excellent are your ways, O Lord of Eternity !
40 The Nile from heaven for foreign peoples
41 and all land-creatures that walk on legs.
42 For Egypt the Nile from the Netherworld.

Chapter – 4
1 (life-giving nature of God)
2 Your rays nurse all fields.
3 When You shine they live, they grow for You.
4 You made the seasons, so that all that You made may come to life.
5 Winter cools them, and heat makes them sense You.
6 the Aten is sole witness, sole creator & sole presence
7 You created the sky far away in order to ascend to it,
8 to witness everything You created.
9 You are alone, shining in your form of the living God.
10 Risen, radiant, distant and near.
11 You made millions of forms from yourself alone :
12 cities, towns, fields, the river’s course.
13 All eyes see You above them
14 as God of the daytime on high.
15 When You are gone, (…) your eye is gone (…)
16 which You have made … for their sake
17 Pharaoh is the only messenger of God
18 But even then You are in my heart and there is no other who knows You,
19 only your son, Nefer-kheperu-Re, the only begotten Son of God,
20 whom You have taught your ways and your might.
21 The ones on Earth come into being by your hand, in the way You made them.
22 When You rise, they live.
23 When You set, they die.
24 You yourself are lifetime itself, one lives through You.
25 All eyes rest on beauty until You set.
26 All labor ceases when You rest in the West.
27 When You rise, You make all arms firm for the King,
28 every leg is on the move since You founded the Earth,
29 You rouse them for your son, who emerged from your body.
30 The King who lives by the Righteous Laws, the Lord of the Two Lands :
31 Nefer-kheperu-Re, the only begotten Son of God,
32 the Son of the Holy Spirit who lives by the Righteous Law,
33 the Lord of Crowns, Akhenaten, great in his lifetime.
34 And the great Queen whom he loves, the Lady of the Two Lands :
35 Nefer-neferu-Aten Nefertiti,
36 who lives and is re born for ever and ever. (Amen).
